Read Through: BSC #20 - Kristy and the Walking Disaster

I'm so sorry guys, I totally spaced on this last week! Feel free to nudge me or something, or start up a discussion post yourself if I go AWOL! :(

Kristy and the Walking Disaster

GUESS WHICH ONE'S THE WALKING DISASTER!

Welcome to the discussion post for Kristy and the Walking Disaster! This post doesn't have an expiry date on it, so just comment whenever you're ready.

What was your favourite part? What was your least favourite part? Any memorable quotes you'd like to share? What had you forgotten about since the last time this book was read? If someone wrote a fic set during the timeline of this fic, what should they write?

There are no mandatory questions or points of discussion for this - anything you want to talk about in relation to this week's book, go ahead!

Next week's book is BSC #21 - Mallory and the Trouble With Twins

Mary Anne was impressed. Myriah seemed to know a lot about playing ball. Yeahhh, good for you Myriah :)

Archie missed my next easy pitch, too, but then he’s only four, and also left-handed, which makes things a little more difficult. Kristy isn't left-handed, is she? Technically at a certain level lefty batters are said to have an advantage against righty pitchers but maybe that hasn't kicked in yet. :p

like, I was thirteen instead of 5.8, and taller than the players. Again with the 5.8 thing!

I love baseball so I was glad this was the plot. I'm wondering whether this would be soccer or something if it was written today. But then again there are girls in some Little League teams so who knows?

Aww, Andrew is so adorable. I love him even though Karen usually overshadows him.

Charlie teasing Kristy. I love Thomas-Brewer family dynamics.

I like how Kristy so breezily mentions she's jealous of Dawn like it's nothing. It's nice she can acknowledge stuff like that.

I cannot believe Claudia's room isn't infested with ants or mice.

Bart!!! I knew this was the Krushers book but for some reason I forgot that Bart had been a factor the whole time.

I love that Kristy's looking forward to asking Watson for help with the Krushers.

I think the comment about Nina rarely coming over to the Perkinses is interesting especially because the Perkinses pretty much supplanted the Marshalls' role in the books.

Dang, Shea is mean! And Kristy never calls him on it!

OMG Karen just spell it with a K. IT'S A THING.

I think about Nofe-air every time I say the phrase No fair.

Kristy having a crush is adorable.

I'm not sure what they mean by "catcher's cage." I don't think that's a thing. I think they mean the backstop.

I love the Thomas-Brewer family all helping out at the game!

Kristy giving Jackie confidence! I love that he gets to be a little more than a walking disaster, even though the reset button pretty much gets hit after this.

Watson being proud of Kristy. <3
