Read Through: BSC #16 - Jessi's Secret Language

Argh, I've fallen behind again! I need to catch up, next week's book is one of my favourites.

Jessi's Secret Language

Welcome to the discussion post for Jessi's Secret Language! This post doesn't have an expiry date on it, so just comment whenever you're ready.

What was your favourite part? What was your least favourite part? Any memorable quotes you'd like to share? What had you forgotten about since the last time this book was read? If someone wrote a fic set during the timeline of this fic, what should they write?

There are no mandatory questions or points of discussion for this - anything you want to talk about in relation to this week's book, go ahead!

Next week's book is BSC #17 - Mary Anne's Bad Luck Mystery

That’s just the kind of mother she is. I hope she goes back to sleep after she sees that everything is as it should be. But I’ll probably never know. Even though she and I are very close (which is how I know she wakes up when I do), I’ll probably never ask if she gets back to sleep, and she probably doesn’t know that I know she wakes up. It’s not the kind of thing you need to talk about. Huh, I wonder how this dynamic played out when Jessi got a little older (or does she move somewhere else? I forget who goes where). Once she's in high school would her mom make her poke her head in at night just to make sure she got back safe? I had a lot of freedom even when I was much older but my parents would always be like "text us when you get back"! (Of course, different eras/technologies.)

Dawn announced that she’d heard that if you were able to touch your nose with your tongue, it meant that eventually (like when you were eighteen) you would need a very big bra. My, um, sources refute this.

“The opening of Copernicus,” replied Becca. Now there's a ballet!
