Read Through: BSC #16 - Jessi's Secret Language

Argh, I've fallen behind again! I need to catch up, next week's book is one of my favourites.

Jessi's Secret Language

JESSI'S LEARNING A SECRET LANGUAGE FOR A VERY SPECIAL CHILD

Welcome to the discussion post for Jessi's Secret Language! This post doesn't have an expiry date on it, so just comment whenever you're ready.

What was your favourite part? What was your least favourite part? Any memorable quotes you'd like to share? What had you forgotten about since the last time this book was read? If someone wrote a fic set during the timeline of this fic, what should they write?

There are no mandatory questions or points of discussion for this - anything you want to talk about in relation to this week's book, go ahead!

Next week's book is BSC #17 - Mary Anne's Bad Luck Mystery

Yeah, sure, kid, you became bilingual in a week at Cabo.

Ramsey sibling adorableness!

Is this where I share that I had no idea how to pronounce Mme. as a kid and I mentally read her name as Meem Noelle?

"The only solution was for me to dance at the end of the line, holding the hand of the fourteen-year-old in our group who was mature enough not to care about petty little things." – How about the solution is don't be a little asshole???

I wonder how much of the Sign Language stuff is wrong and out of date just like the diabetes stuff…

Aww, Haley. I don't remember this side to her but I'm sure she must resent Matt for making it hard to fit in and for taking up so much of her parents' time and attention. I mean, they basically structure their entire lives around him, which they have to, but that must be tough for her.

I'm surprised Dawn isn't a vegetarian. Is she? It hasn't been mentioned and she's here eating meatballs with the Pikes.

I love Margo trolling everyone.

Jessi interacting with Adele is so sweet!

I love how signing is catching on in the neighborhood. And that the boys first learned all the signs to play baseball. :D

Haley breaking my heart again.

I love the idea of bringing Matt's class to Coppelia! And I love that Jessi gets to arrange a big thing in her first days in the BSC. That really proves she belongs since she was kind of brought in by proxy with Mal.

Copernicus :D

Katie Beth learning to sign! But her parents not being interested. :( And Katie Beth and Adele at the end.

And Mal and Keisha meeting. I don't remember this, though I remember them meeting in BSC in the USA.

Claudia mashing her sundae is gross? I say that's correct!
