Read Through: BSC #14 - Hello, Mallory

Sorry this is late, I got distracted by the Olympics!

Hello, Mallory

WHY ARE THE BABY-SITTERS MAKING IT SO HARD FOR MALLORY TO JOIN THEIR CLUB?

Welcome to the discussion post for Hello, Mallory! This post doesn't have an expiry date on it, so just comment whenever you're ready.

What was your favourite part? What was your least favourite part? Any memorable quotes you'd like to share? What had you forgotten about since the last time this book was read? If someone wrote a fic set during the timeline of this fic, what should they write?

There are no mandatory questions or points of discussion for this - anything you want to talk about in relation to this week's book, go ahead!

Next week's book is BSC #15 - Little Miss Stoneybrook... and Dawn

I remember, as a kid, being very confused by what a tourniquet was and needing to ask my mother because I'd never heard the word before.

Ha, me too. A running joke throughout my childhood was that whenever mine had cause to say "where did you learn that?" my answer was always "the Baby-Sitters Club."

I think everything I (still) know about ballet is via Jessi...

I never realized the range of issues and situations the books tackled (and tackled well!) until I started re-reading. (Along with all the random information in general-- and I know I swiped some of the BSC's ideas when I was a teen/young adult running day camps)
