Oh I am 100% convinced that Mrs Porter knows about the witch thing and plays it up.

I'm not convinced Mrs Porter wasn't trolling the shit out of those kids.
Exactly! There is no way she hasn’t heard the rumors from those pesky neighborhood kids. It reminds me of that Sweet Valley book where they keep talking about this old lady who’s supposedly a witch, so the lady’s just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and puts a gravestone cutout one her front yard.

What is it with Dori dating BSC exes??

I want to read fic where the McGills do have to colonize Mars :p

Secret Agents game sounds like fun!

Man, Mrs Barrett makes me so mad. "Hey mom, can we do this really complicated and labour-intensive project?" "Sure, I guess, as long as you wait for the day your thirteen-year-old babysitter is here so I don't have to deal with it."

I am also really intrigued by this talk at the library about old homes and haunted houses in Stoneybrook that Dawn and Sharon went to.

Poor Stacey being torn over moving back to New York. I've never read it in order like this and I am so used to her being totally ex-friends with Laine. I'm actually looking forward to seeing more of their friendship when it was good.

I love Mimi hugging Stacey. And that all the Kishis come to the door. And Claud being even more heartbroken than Stacey. :(

It's kind of interesting how Kristy predicts that Stacey's parents are getting divorced. I know Kristy is the Divorced Kid, but I do wonder if she's picking up on something Stacey isn't. The tensions between the McGills have always been there, with her diabetes and their inability to have another child. It was clear to me in The Truth About Stacey that the eventual divorce isn't a surprise.

Dawn seems pretty fatalistic about Jeff leaving. I imagine she's getting fed up with him, especially after the incident where she had to pick him up from school with some sitting charges in tow.

“That just sounds like a regular old French accent,” I said, but nobody heard me. - That's because you're not there, Stacey! Guessing that should have been a line for Claud or Mal.

BTW, do we ever hear from the Pikes' French neighbors again? Isn't this supposed to be the house Stacey and Maureen live in when they move back to Stoneybrook?

I love Mrs. Porter trolling the kids with witch stuff. There's no way that's not what she's doing.

Oh, Charlotte! What a time for Stacey to leave when she's doing so well. At least she'll have Becca soon.

I love the suggestion that Kristy's business acumen is taking after her mother!

Oh, the party! I love the mural.

Is this the first time we get Anastasia? And Dawn's middle name!

I love that they decide to ask Mal to join before Stacey leaves. I like that she gets to stick up for her and ask her!

Oh, the good-bye. Poor everybody. :( I love how much Kristy there is in this. I never think of Kristy as someone who would particularly miss Stacey but she seems more upset than anybody but Claudia (and MA, obviously, but MA really just cries; Kristy seems to value Stacey as a member which I like).

-Ah it’s kind of clear at the start that Stacey also misses NY badly.

-If we hadn’t been sitting smack in the center of the Stoneybrook Middle School cafeteria, I’m sure all five of us would have started wailing away -my heart. Though I have to giggle at all of them ignoring Mary Anne’s wailing later.

-I’d completely forgotten Mary Anne’s talk with Jeff! It’s nice that he gets to have it with his future step-sister.

-If you and your friends will organize and run the entire sale, you can keep whatever money you make. Ok so Maureen is being ‘careless’ with money here, and we’ll see the repercussions. There are so many clues to the McGill’s upcoming divorce – there’s also the talks of their inability to have another kid. :/

-The triplets are curly? That’s news to me.

-We weren’t angry; we just had all these “last things” to say to each other but didn’t know how to say them, which was maybe the saddest thing of all about my moving. – There you go again breaking my heart!

-LMAO. After this lemonade incident, I like to think Mrs. Porter knows about Karen’s dumb stories and is just messing with her head. SOMEone needs to teach that kid a lesson anyways.

-“See that? He’s sick,” Karen whispered urgently.

“No, I’m not,” Andrew replied indignantly. “I just have to go. Now.”

GO ANDREW, STAND UP FOR YOURSELF.

-The book dedication to Charlotte! Sniff. It looks like Becca came for her just in the nick of time.

-Idk why I find Dawn taking care of spider plants so fascinating but I do. You’d think she’d have more of a green thumb.

-ahahaha the first mention of Anastasia!

-Dawn can’t add, LOL. C’mon Claud, you of all people should go easy on her for something like that.

-EVERYTHING IS SAD. I hate reading about goodbyes dangit. I too am glad to read this knowing she comes back! Real-time BSC fans would have had to go a year with Stacey gone, and ouch.
