Read Through: BSC #8 - Boy-Crazy Stacey

Boy-Crazy Stacey

Welcome to the discussion post for Boy-Crazy Stacey! This post doesn't have an expiry date on it, so just comment whenever you're ready.

What was your favourite part? What was your least favourite part? Any memorable quotes you'd like to share? What had you forgotten about since the last time this book was read? If someone wrote a fic set during the timeline of this fic, what should they write?

There are no mandatory questions or points of discussion for this - anything you want to talk about in relation to this week's book, go ahead!

Next week's book is BSC #9 - The Ghost at Dawn's House

Late on this (idk if I'll catch up on #7, I don't have notes), but a few quotes I pulled:

“Mo-om!” yelled Nicky. “Vanessa stuck her tongue out at me!” Nice to see nerdy Vanessa get in on the teasing (and ditto for Mallory being a decent mini-golfer! Although it makes sense that her age would make her bigger and more coordinated than her siblings and that would dominate at that point.)

Mary Anne and I nodded. I was beginning to think that “mother’s helper” was a pretty funny term, since Mary Anne and I were going to be helping Mr. Pike as much as Mrs. Pike. Maybe we should be called parents’ helpers. Touche! I'm not familiar with the term "mother's helper" at all.

On the boardwalk, we gave each kid a dollar to spend, all we thought we could afford, not knowing how expensive the Palace might be. The kids planned and planned, each wanting to get the best and the most for his or her money...An hour later, Byron had ridden the Ferris wheel twice; Vanessa had bought a little pink deer from the glass blower; Claire, Nicky, and Margo had tried the bumper cars; Mallory had bought a frog made out of seashells; and Jordan and Adam had been through the haunted house, and were mad at Byron, who had refused to go with them. Inflation rates also date the book! :P
